And the Oscar goes to...
Jul. 20th, 2004 10:22 pmWell, it won't be going to the Stepford Wives, but don't let that stop you from seeing this movie. It isn't anything like the original version, which was horror/thriller. This version is a black comedy. There is a salute to the original version during a part of the movie, but that was it.
The characters were great, and I especially liked Bette Middlers "Bobbie" character and her outrageous and inventive suggestion on how to use a Pine cone to have herself a Merry Ol' Christmas. (snerkchucklechortle) Nicoles Kidmans character, Joanna, was played perfectly (loved her reaction with the Robo Puppy). And Roger.. well he was just hillarious. :)
Its a fun movie, no secret meanings, or underlying message to get across. Just a movie on how far people will go to achieve what they perceive as 'perfect'.
