Of Class and Country...
May. 22nd, 2004 06:27 pmReally 'rough upped' the students today. We pushed them to see just how much they could do, and they surprised the hell out of us. Three of them there today. And we raised the bar and not only did they clear it,but surpassed it. Meegan and I have come to the understanding that the reason it took so long to learn things when with that other student group last year, is that it just wasn't taught right or well. All three of them not only had the Turkish Shimmy down pat in under 15 minutes, but they also got the Arabic hip twist!
Shevaun, after about 2 months, twice a week, and with practice session, is farther along than .. well, better than some other students I used to dance with many moons ago. Kim and Sue are >.< this close to performance level, just have to fine tune arm placement, and get them costumed up. Zilling while dancing trips Sue up a bit, but we all told her to just relax, that it comes with practice. Just stop playing them when she has to dance in center, but play them when in chorus or background.
Have performance in Fremantle this Monday. I have a feeling that in about 2 weeks, maybe 4, we will have a larger group dancing there.
