Dear kind sweet lovable aikidomayland;
When you take your shower in the morning, and you use up all the hot water, knowing full well I have plans to go out so I too need a shower, and also knowing that the sun won't hit the solar panels until much much later in the morning (10amish), it would be common courtesy for you to turn the booster on before you go.

You know, I read 10amish as 10 Amish.

I face a similar problem every time I ask one of my teens to shower. I know I have to ask them at least forty five minutes before I want my shower, to allow half an hour for them to wash themselves and fifteen minutes for the gas to heat the next batch of water.

I can shower in under 10 minutes, but I will not do so under cold tap water coming from the shower. Wing has since been informed about 'lesson in courtesy'.

Our (gas) storage heater fell apart a couple of months ago, so we switched to instant gas. Finally, all four of us can have a shower whenever we like without having to worry whether it's heated up yet. Luxury. (And our first gas bill since the switch was less than the last one we had with the storage heater.)

You are familiar with that substance that is put in gas so it stinks? This way it can clue people to gas leaks?

It gives me migraines. And no matter how clean a gas heater burns, there is always some left dancing around the air.

Simple courtesy will work just dandy. :)

Yep, I know the stuff. However, gas heaters are not allowed indoors these days, and ours is a long way from the living areas & windows.
