Waiting for the Bus.

We are looking for photos that are taken of persons going about their daily lives – and are not aware of a camera present. We want to see captures – slices of time – of people without the reservation that naturally comes with photography. The primary subject of the image should be a person or persons. The story emanating from the photo must be dominated by the person/s in the photo – and not ancillary or incidental. This can be in the way of a full candid portrait, or a wider scene – but always with the human subjects as the main focus. We are not after snaps of your family while they are not looking. There is not much challenge in that. Candid photography of strangers can be very challenging – and that is exactly what we are after.

Is it sad that I'm pretty certain I know which bus stop that is, even though I haven't been there in years?

(Opposite Kardinya shops, on the 'towards Fremantle' side of South St.)

Yup. I rode up the pedestrian path on my scooter, had camera around my neck. The lens was in perfect position, and used the LCD screen to find and focus.

Heh. So, is that sad or not?

(And while I think of it, how's the back mending?)

Back is better, just the left leg that isn't up to snuff... yet.

Yes, it's mine. It was one of three candid shots I had tried to get that day. One was a woman loading up trunk of her car, while pinning phone on her shoulder, and eat an apple. Would have been great but a delivery truck picked that moment to pull up and block my view.

The 2nd attempt was this stunning African woman. But she saw the camera, and did the stiffen-pose-rictus grin.

I got this one on the way back home.
