anysiaThe two antique fitted wardrobes arrived yesterday afternoon. I was gripped by the 'ohjeeze should I really have gotten them' that usually hits after a major purchase. After helping the guy unload them, and trundle them into the house (they were on metal castors, thank gods, or else they would not be moved with less than 4 strong bodies!) and room where they were going to live, all doubts flew out the window. These things are marvelous. They remind me of the well made wooden furntiture my grandmother had. The kind she got from her mother.
Beautiful mahogany finish (no, not Swan River Mahogany, aka Jarrah wood) drawers behind the right doors that glide, a dowelled slide out trouser rack in one, and an extra 'short clothes closet' above the drawers in the other, and nice deep closets behind the left doors. I really like the old fashioned silver keys that unlock the doors. You just don't see workmanship like this anymore, an especially not at this price. :)
