Why patience when photographing wildlife is essential

Yesterday a huge flock a white cheeked black cockatoos made their early morning appearance. After making sure it was the same approximate time for the 4th day in a row, I got all prepped and ready. Cameras at the ready, and just waiting.

Guess which flock of birds decided to travel about 100 yrs further away this morning?

*sigh* Will try again tomorrow.... and the next day, and the next day.
