Got myself a pair of shockingly white canvas boat shoes. Didn't really want to blind people with them, so I racked my brain on how to change the color without really dyeing them. I have this tie dyed burgundy dress, that always seeps and leeches dye when laundered. Even after 3 yrs it still needs to be washed by itself.
So, I first laundered the sneakers with the dress, making sure the washer was on drip dry, not spin. I filled a bucket of water with water from the washer (it was dark purple), put the sneakers in the bottom of it, and then the dress. Stuck bucket outside in the sunlight for the entire afternoon. Brought them in and left it overnight.
( Must say, they came out better than I had hoped. )
