We went to Chin's noodle house, and I spotted a Star Trek shirt wearer.

Ended up meeting him later, when we went to the IGA. I complimented him on his shirt. Turns out he went the big 2018 Las Vegas Convention. And we spoked back and forth at warp speed.

I said I named our black kitty after Gary Seven's cat in Assignment Earth. He gave me big smile and said "ISIS!" He got to meet the actress that played the human form of Isis.

I told him how I stumped panel of Star Trek experts
In "Lights of Zetar", what was Lt Mira Romaine (Romayne?)'s parents names
He didn't know either, so I told him the names. Now he has a great trivia question for his next convention.

Our meeting had to come to an end, and he gave me the Vulcan "Live Long and Prosper"
I asked him if he knew the response... he looked like eager puppy
I gave salute and said "Peace and Long Life"

We parted ways (because his wife and my mother in law were getting annoyed) Nobody understands Trekkers, except other Trekkers and sci fen.
anysia: (Archery)
Archery: did as 'well' as expected after almost a month break. Was mostly to test out the new arrows aikidomayland made. The parabolic fletched ones fly like a dream. Unfortunately, the banana fletched ones are too point heavy and nose dive no matter how high I aim. aikidomayland looked at them, and realised he put too heavy a point on them. Easily fixed. Needs to be fixed as we will be doing a "Castle Clout" shoot, and I need the arrows to fly far, and not drop like a rock after 35 meters

Lunch at Foo Gwai* Emperor's Kitchen. Different yet equally yummy. Made pork bun sacrifice to akire-yta.

Stopped in at the Leeming Rec Center to find out about membership. Talked with very knowledgeable man, Shawn. Have appointment with Phil, a personal trainer, to design a program for me that will help get me back into some semblance of fitness again. Seems Phil has experience with 'post injury' people. Will make decision on what sort of membership I get after the consultation.

Home, and a siesta. Loki was pesky, as my resting in the afternoon seems wrong to him. Stuffed him under blanket and cuddled him, and he was convinced it was ok

*Closed for renovations.
