The moon will appear to 'tilt on occasion, but that is me repositioning the camera.

Lunar Eclipse - Dec 10 2011, a set on Flickr.

Each one is about a 5 minute increments (+/- 1 minute). Some photos, the sunlit part of the moon was 'center stage' and in the rest, the "blood moon" was. There are a few that aren't as sharp and clear, due to thin high clouds. Overall, a great photo session! Enjoy!

Lunar eclipse early this morning. Was up, camera and tripod ready... and all the fewking trees were blocking my view, no matter where I stood.

Next time, I get on my scooter and scout for clear location.

Oh, it's gonna be a long day for me.

I didn't post it before, because I was so loopy from being tired, I didn't give this one a second glance. I showed it to aikidomayland and told him I was disappointed because the moon was in the lower right hand corner, not centered.

He looked at me, and said "Just crop it down". *sheepish grin*

I claim extreme exhaustion for the brain cramp.

The clouds broke, for about 20 seconds. And if I hadn't been looking, I would have missed it. The streaks are the clouds moving at warp speed. 8 second exposure with Lumix DCM-FZ30N, tripod mount.

Not only cloudy, but now it’s raining. I do see ruddy red clouds to the east, and I hear a lot of charter choppers and planes going overhead (betting people paid to get unimpeded view).

I will keep checking, but from what I can see (I do have an almost unimpeded view) it’s clouds and rain from horizon to horizon.

Bummer.

Total lunar eclipse tonight. The moon will be in full eclipse when it rises here in Perth. We will get to see it come out of eclipse over a period of almost three hours.

I hope we have a bit of a break in the weather, but not holding my breath. But I will be prepared. I have camera battery on charge, SD card ready, telephoto lens out, tripod at the ready.

I would love to get a photograph of the blood red moon while it's still in full eclipse.
