I connected my phone with my desktop to transfer some photos from the micro SD card. I was rather shocked to find that I had hardly any memory on the device. Shocked because I have moved all movable applications to the micro SD card.

So, I disconnect the phone and opened AppManager and said Whohuhwha? All programs that had been on the SD card were once again on the device instead.

This is where "you'd think smartphones would be smart"... I had updated the apps on the device, and instead of installing them where they were, the updater deleted them from the micro SD card, and wrote them to device memory instead. I just spent about an hour moving them all back to the SD card. Oy.

I wanted a specific app for my android tablet. But according to Google Play, it wouldn't work on my tablet.

This not being the first time I've seen this, nor do I think it will be the last. Oddly enough, if I circumvent their 'download prevention' by installing it on my Android phone, then using ApkManager to make a back up of it. Copied the apk to my desktop, then moved it to my tablet, installed it and it works just fine.

Personally, they should leave them to be downloaded and have the device toss up an error message saying it won't work.

I can port my old MobiPocket ebooks into Kindle app on my Android tablet. This is good, as I couldn't read them as I was having trouble reading on small screen.

There are a few things any Android user is aware of. Limited screen space for shortcuts. I got a nifty app Launch X Pro, made 5 widgets that can be scrolled through. I could have made just one, but for now, the 5 categories work fine.

Also, I found it a bit annoying that the Launcher for my Suli didn't allow for launch screen rotation. It's capable of it, as all the programs/apps rotate. Even the crappy ePad did that much. Easily enough fixed. I tried ADW.Launcher. It worked, but it was a memory hog. Uninstalled it and tried Zeam instead. Much smaller footprint and memory use is much less, too.

Also, the Kindle App for android issue: the support guy for Kindle has tried to say that because the Kindle App wasn't preinstalled, that is why I have problems with some ebooks. Have found out that other people who have Android phones or tablets without it preinstalled aren't having this problem, but it's a known issue. But since it affects only a small percentage of Android Users, they aren't going to bother trying to fix it.

Fine, I will just keep 'convincing' the e-books I buy to play nice. It's not something I want to do, but more like painted into a corner to do so.

I have been running into an issue when getting ebooks for Kindle App on my tablet. Many times, I will get "Invalid Item: remove from device and redownload from archives", and when I do this, I get the same Invalid message, the same .. well, you get it. Round and round.

I asked for Kindle support to call me. After deleting the app, then reinstalling it (yes, did this before too) and still getting the same error message, I am informed it's because Kindle didn't come preinstalled on the device.

Huh? That excuse just doesn't wash! Kindle App didn't come preinstalled on my desktop, or netbook, or laptop, and guess what? I don't get this error message! Why do some boosk open without a hitch, but some puke up the above error message?

So, Kindle/Amazon, stop trying to fix the blame and fix the damned problem!

I have been reading some of the forums about the Suli SL-7, and what a bunch of idiots.

Of course the Android tablet isn't as fast as your laptop or desktop. Complaining that a small 1ghz (cpu and gpu combined) tablet with 256 megs of memory to run very small footprint/system resource using programs is rather silly. Whining it doesn't have a camera when it stated quite clearly there is no camera again is silly.

The Suli SL-7 has a capacitive screen, WiFi, can use my 3Mobile Broadband modem, reads different ebook formats, can play audio and video, and even though the OEM installed browser (and haven't found a way to install a different one.. yet) can't handle flash sites, there is an installation file on the device for YouTube. This means, you go to YouTube (or other flash video) and the browser will have pop up window asking if you want to use the YouTube app as default flash video viewer. How simple is that?

As for the chronic complainers, Methinks they have their expectations too damned high or are secretly longing for an iPad.

But there is a YouTube App for the Android tablet that you can surf YouTube. That works for me just fine. To really improve it, they would have to make a feature where you can download the video. That would be choice.

The more I use the Android tablet, the more versatile I find it to be. Don't get me wrong, my Netbook is still great, but if I am going somewhere where I have to lug a heavy bag (like camera gear) around for long period, the netbook would begin to feel like an anchor.

I have installed a multi IM program, an IRC program, Twitter, Kindle, and other useful (to me) apps and programs. I think spent a bit of time 'convincing' Mobi ebooks to play nice with Kindle app. Success. Now have to see if I can get EReader books to play nice, too.

Went to dinner with Mom in Law. It was actually a lot of fun, but both Wing and I are worried about her. She is obviously stressed out, and has lost weight again. She was never what you could call robust to begin with, and losing 6 or 7 lbs (2 or three kilos). We went back to her place afterward. Alan and I set up her DVD player with her tv, and I wrote out the instructions, step by step on how to switch from AV (the dvd deck) to DTV (back to the TV)

As I stated last week or before, I had decided on a specific Android Tablet. It was the Suli SL-7 with Capacitive screen, 20gbs storage.

The only negative thing I can say is "How the heck can I get rid of the air bubbles out from under the included with my purchase screen protector?" but I have that question with every device (phone, mp3player, camera LCD).

It's fast, was a breeze to set up for Mobile broadband, and for Wifi. I loaded an AVI rip from a dvd and nt only did it play it full screen, there was no problem with the audio losing sync with the video.

Audible audio books load up and play beautifully, no static or skipping.

The screen is a dream. Even with the screen protector on, there is no problem with navigation. So far, every Android App I have installing has functioned perfectly without any system crashes or program crashes.

The only kerfuffle I have is this: I had bought two Kindle books the middle of last month. Well, the author/publisher decided after the fact that it was to be only sold in the US, so I can't load those books onto the new device, but they do still work with my phone. After being on the phone with Kindle support for over an hour, and testing it's no fault of Kindle App or Android device. They did accept my feedback that they need to have a separate OZ Amazon, or clearly mark on the site that said book, even the sample, is only to be sold in the US.

No, it doesn't have a camera, but I have one already, and it's not a phone, but again, I have a phone.

And doing some serious research, from users prospectives not the manufacturers/sellers, I have decided on which Android OS tablet to get. The biggest deciders are one USB host port and a mini USB port, and upgradeable to 20 gigs of total space via Micro SD Card. Now, just have to wait for to arrive.

Yes, it has a capacitive screen, and when it arrives, I will put it through its paces. Then I shall post my review.
