Lookit what the cat dragged in
Apr. 12th, 2004 07:15 pmAnd man oh man am I knackered. Came up to the door, and got mugged by two cats suffering separation anxiety. (rolls eyes)
SwanCon is over for this year. There is the "Dead Dog Party" afterwards. (And seeing as how exhausted everyone is, dead dog is a pretty close description) We are going to give that a miss this year.
The Dance Demo/Workshop went better than we expected. Very interested parties. One woman was so into it, she asked if we would start a class up in Morley. We said if 4 people would solidly commit to a 6 week term, yes. She said she has 3 friends to blackmail (and yes she laughed when she said this)
I find one thing funny....no matter what class/workshop you run, there will always be one attendee that will try to take over. This one girl kept trying to do Classic Egyptian bellydance moves, even though all three of us explained quite patiently that wasn't what we were doing. We did the usual showing of how to do a few of the basic slow and fast moves, showed the cues and transitions between them. When this particular gal came up to the front, she started swaying and snake arming every which way. The others got kind of lost, so I told them "Ladies, don't do that, stick to the closest tribal move" and they didn't. Oy.. it worked out in the end.
Tim and Serena will be catching plane tomorrow to head home, and we wish them a safe trip home. The SwanCon closing was very moving and over too soon. It's always a bit sad when it is over, but hey there is always next year! (Just hope one of these days Tim and Serena head back this way again. They are truly good people)
Got to check out the pictures taken, and see what is usable. Shots taken quickly and rushed tend to be poor quality, but I can hope. :)
Heading off to prop my feet, and go through those stacks and stacks of books gotten at the Con. Oh yeah! Shawn Tan...got his works. Wow, what excellent artwork. Have a suprise for
shadoutcarver, will have to get that into the mail ASAP. >:) And the jokey gift I got for my bestest buddy,
zeovermind. He is twisted enough to enjoy it. hehehe
My house is a flipping disaster area. It looks as if someone tossed in a few concussion grenades and slammed the door quick. That's what happens when all you do is head home, shower, jammies, sleep, get up , get dressed and head out to the Con again. Laundry? What's that? Anyone know where I can rent a cheap backhoe? How about a small bobcat?
