Long weekends?

anysiaJust wish someone could tell Loki that a 6am wake up is not required on a Sunday morning. Oh well.
I got up and decided to let him roam around in the tall grass in the back yard. He was doing pretty darned well, until aikidomayland kept ummm brusquely issuing commands to Loki (one never orders a cat/kitten. It just doesn't work.) Loki got all wild eyed and dashed up the tallest tree in our back yard.
Did I mention I trimmed his claws yesterday? Little or no 'dig in' ability? He started falling and couldn't get a grip with his front feet to pull himself up. *PANIC* He was about 20ft up and all I could think was "Not again!" and imagine a broken back or neck this time. I ran under the tree, prepared to catch a squirming and falling kitten. At the last second he managed to get his back foot into the bark and push himself up. He minced his way down to us, and aikidomayland grabbed him by the scruff. I shoved his hands away, and picked Loki up. "Scruffing is for vet and punishment." Loki will stay on the harness until he is 5 or 10 yrs old, I think.
Had breakfast and headed out to the archery range. I decided to wear contacts today, and it changed things just a bit. Being nearsighted, my glasses make images smaller to sharpen what I see. Contacts laying flat on the cornea, I didn't get that size distortion that I am used to when wearing glasses, and it threw me off my game for a while. I did manage to adjust to the slight difference in distance and size appearance, and manged to land three shots within a 5 x 3 inch line. One right after the other. After the third time, I decided to take a picture for posterity.

Went to Foo Gwai afterward. We found out that if we don't show up there for 2 weeks in a row, we had better let em know why! We were swarmed by the staff there asking if we were ok! Where had we been! etc etc. Splained the aikido seminar that aikidomayland went to one week, and the home repair the next. We were missed. Lunch ensued, along with a pork bun sacrifice to akire-yta. *urp*
aikidomayland isn't feeling too well. Allergies, but he won't take an antihistamine for it. I cold heartedly told him to either take one, or suffer in silence. My Aunt Elnore would have been proud of that delivery. heh
