Be afraid, be very afraid

Fred Thompson has publicly declared, on the Jay Leno Show no less, that he will be running for president. The last thing the US needs is another ignorant man, who feels he doesn't need to know what to do and can learn on the job, who thinks keeping a US presence in the Middle East is a good idea.

I was explaining to coworkers earlier the situation with him, and basically summed it up by saying he'd decided Bush wasn't conservative enough, so he was going to out-Bush Bush.

Huckabee scares me more. Keeping his stance on Iraq (and Iran) in the background, occasionally making soothing we-should-look-at-a-new-way noises whenever Ron Paul does too well. Sounding a bit like Edwards with a populist tinted message. Both of those cut ground under Dems, Iraq, healthcare, and the economy looking to be the top issues.

At the same time he's more of the SoS. Can't see him rolling back any of the unitary executive BS.
