Wow. That performance was amazing. There was a slight hitch with the sound. The guy who controlled the sound systems couldn't see us to tell us he had started the music. We had 30 seconds of a 'silent track' because we were supposed to come in zilling. Oh well. We figured out he had hit play when track #2 started. But still there was a problem with the sound. Meegan had trouble hearing it, and she kept putting me back in lead position! I asked her what was going on, and she was amazed how well I could talk through a smile and not move my lips. She told me she could not hear the music. So, after a shaky start due to a sound glitch, we just kept going. (No, no rewinding of the music to pick up at a 'favorite part' to do a planned dance move for us!) The first song, slow, hypnotic and precice deliberate movements. A sigh went through the crowd when that one wound down to its end. Then applause.

Then, the second song started (track #3). A fast paced song, and it really perked the audience up. The only problem, the wind picked up and our hands were getting cold and stiff, and keeping a good beat with the zils was getting very difficult. So, instead of playing zils poorly, we stopped. Whooping applause at the end of that song.

Then Meegans favorite song, one she didn't have to hear clearly, because she knows it so well. It was a stunning performance by the both of us. We got almost swamped with people gathered around us,with comments of "Bloodly marvelous" "bloody amazing", and "Spectacular . Those were the most common. I was surprised to see tears in some peoples eyes.

Some people from Wings' job showed up there and thoroughly enjoyed the dance. Two of our students came so they could see what it's like at a live outdoor performance. They had that gleam in their eyes, like we did, and you just know they want to be out there too some day, and they will.

Many of the people from Relay For Live came up to us afterwards, thanking us, and just gobsmacked at the performance. We have been included in NEXT YEARS Relay For Life entertainment! How's that for making a great impression.

Wing was wonderful.. our ever present Fanboy/Photographer. We didn't get many pictures, but we do have video! Ran into a photographer we know and will be setting up some photo shoots. Not contrived posed shots either. She has already picked out the right place. :) Just have to pick the right day.

Saw a fellow LJer walking the oval. :) Loved the doubletake reaction when I waved to him, while in tribal gear. (chucklesnicker) Took him a few seconds to realise who it was.

All in all, a most satisfying performance, all around. Even with the glitch with the sound system. :) I go to sneepyrand now I guess. Or soon.
