Bush Oks involuntary Marine recall
Initial recall is for 2,500, but there is no cap
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush has authorized the U.S. Marine Corps to recall 2,500 troops to active duty because there are not enough volunteers returning for duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, Marine commanders announced Tuesday.
Gee, involuntary recall. Won't be too much longer before that chickenhawk demands that other people's children get drafted to die in his illegal war.

Date: 2006-08-23 03:27 am (UTC)He doesn't care about this mess he has made. Hence his flippant comments that he will leave it to the next administration. Typical of him, make a huge f*cking mess, and leave it for someone else to clean up.

Date: 2006-08-23 03:53 am (UTC)Don't forget that there is an election here in a few months, While they continue to spin Iraq as essential to the WoT, each spin lasts less time. Those running realize that they may get whacked in November, there's been signs of shifts in campaigns. The Lieberman/Lamont thing is in part Republicans trying to head off an antiwar movement that could cause them real problems; by having Lieberman show up as frontrunner they can dis the movement. Republicans are trapped by the Administrations bent on Iraq, if they make less than 100% comments they fall into the nattering nabobs of negativism camp.
Bush, but not WoT
