Getting things done before a 'deadline'

aikidomayland and I are hitched, and my last name was changed. Now, we have to see what needs be done about my permanent resident visa on the new passport, as my old one has been cancelled due to getting a new one. Last thing we need is for me to have happen, is as we go to get on the plane (since he was silly enough not to book under my OLD passport name) and I get turned back for not having proper ID.

Date: 2006-08-03 04:53 am (UTC)Anyway, I had the same problem a few months ago. Got a new passport to reflect my name change. Had to convince the DIMIA to give me a new sticker as well -- they kept insisting that I could just travel on both passports, and I argued, "but my NAME is different too". Grrr. Good luck.

And I really liked the picture on my OLD pasport. hah
