I had mentioned a while back that I thought the problem with AcerBeast (not to be mistaken with my AcerClone) was having hard drive problems. Well, it went nuts today. After 3 years, I suddenly get message that "You might be a victim of counterfeiter" concerning the Pre-installed XP. Who huh wha...? Ok, downloaded the appropiate fix from Micro$oft, and right in the middle of applying it, core memory dump, reboot to... nothing.
I have SpinRite running on it now, and it has found a bad sector. Damn, I miss the days of Norton Disc Utilities, where you could mark a bad block or sector and it would be ignored, not having the computer try to read or write there. I'll see if SpinRite will fixed the problem. If not, I already know where I am going to take it for repairs.

If I can just get it so the data is readable, I'll be happy.
