Archery, Foo Gwai, and Leather
Jun. 18th, 2006 06:18 pmDecided to try archery today. Managed to do pretty well. Practiced shooting 'behind' me (right hand shooter, standing to the right of the target, so having to aim left). Asked Michael for some assist, as I noticed many of my shots were high and to the left. Turns out my Damascus glove is too big,not allowing enough 'follow through'. Great, the Large is too big, and the medium is too small. Nereid and Chris lent me tabs to try. Saw a helluva improvement. Told
aikidomayland I need to get one of those, and Michael trotted off suddenly, and came back with a very nice fingertab with a shelf on it to know when I have pulled back to full draw. Will get some practice with it next week.
Went to "Foo Gwai" and made our ritual Pork Bun sacrifice to
akire_yta. Yum. It was so good, compared to the past few weeks, I actually asked if they had re-hired the previous chef. Turns out no, but they did can the one there, and got another who knows what the heck to do.
Off to Victoria Quay, to the Leather wholesale sale. Have very nice camel colored lambskin 3/4, a bit dressier than my long black leather.
aikidomayland got a jacket that wouldn't look out of place with a shirt and tie.
Very tired, should sleep well tonight, hopefully tuckered out enough to not keep waking up when I roll over.
