'Nightline' Investigation: Wounded Soldiers Told They Owe Money to Army

His adminstration bungles something up, and instead of informing the affected parties, they just don't pay the soldiers their pay for 4 months.  Bush brags he gets a raise, and then they screw over the soldiers? We must support them, and then does this?

Cindy Sheehan invited to attend the State of the Union address, and then is arrested for having an Anti WAR,. It was not anti Shrub shirt, and it is her 1st amendment right. Ah once again, Bush Police State Strikes again.

Also, why did he speak of other countries for the forst 30 mins of his speech? And then once again drag out the 9/11 crutch as an excuse for doing things contray to the laws and constitution? Yes, it happened, and no, I do not believe it could have been prevented... delayed maybe, but when nutjobs get the bit in their teeth about something, they will managed somehow to make it reality at least once. And it's not as if it hadn't been tried before 9/11, so that argument of his flies right out the window.

Hightlight of the SOTUA, when he said that congress dodn't act on some of his proposals, there was cheering from the spectators.

According to Shrub, abortion rates are at an alltime low, but according to Planned Parenthood, since his 'teach abstinence only' policy, teen pregnancy and abortion rates have reached record highs. Guess whose reports and numbers I am going to believe? Makes me wonder what color is the sky on his planet

How can you tell if Bush is lying? His lips move.

Heh.

I didn't watch it. Why should I? They lie, distort, tell half-truths, and then lie some more. And NO ONE calls them on it. Well, maybe Jon Stewart, but who besides him?

Hope all those nimrods who voted for W are happy -- their chickens are coming home to roost, and this country will be changed (and not for the better) for a long time because of them.

Pissants.

OH I didn't watch it either, was just given some of the hypocritical highlights to comment upon. Of course the ABC news site had the story about the soldiers not getting paid right under the announcement of the State of the union address.

Didnt watch it either... just had friend in DC feed some of the rather two faced crap Bush was spewing on and on about. As for his speaking style, he is a dunce. Hell, speaking not withstanding, he is still a dunce

I know you don't care much for Bush, but ol Cindy Sheehan wasn't the only one who got booted from the gallery for wearing a Tshirt. A Republican Congressman's wife got booted as well and she had a Tshirt supporting the troops. Booting people from the Gallery during the State of Union is hardly new. In fact during a Bill Clinton SOTU speech, one man was booted for wearing an anti-Bill Tshirt, so I'd say there is plenty of precedent here. What goes around comes around.

BUT, she was the only one handcuffed and arrested! The other was just asked to leave.

Funny, after leaving her in jail for 4 hours, the police themselves said she should NOT have been arrested for she had done nothing illegal.

I concur that she should have been allowed to be given the chance to leave peaceably. However you can't blame Bush for her treatment by the Capitol police. They don't take their orders from Bush.

(frozen) Oh yes I can

If you don't think his people inform the Capitol Police who to arrest to keep 'the rabble out', thereby having the tacit ok from Bush himself, you are extremely naive.

You forgot to sign in for you last post so...

Oh sure, the Capitol police may be told to watch out for certain people who have personal grudges and may be a potential threat to the POTUS. To ignore that would be stupid. But I spent a good portion of the Billiary Clinton years being quite upset and frustrated with various scandals, lies deceptions and impeachable offenses and if the Clintonista could boot out someone who's wearing a political Tshirt at the SOTU, then it's tit for tat. It sounds like the Capitol police should probably have apologized to the man who was ejected during Clinton's SOTU speech as well. :D

Ejected yes, arrested, handcuffed and left in a jail cell for 4 hours, no. That "tit for tat" is beyond childish, and I think you know it. Also, two wrongs don't make a right. The CP could not have made the anyone leave, EOS. Bushs' Brownshits should NOT have had Cindy Sheenah arrested and jailed for 4 hours, while the wife of a GOP Representative was just asked to leave.

The circumstances about Clinton's blow job and other affairs does not give Shrub and his minions a Get Out of Jail free card.

I agree that she should have been treated with more restraint in ejecting her from the SOTU Speech. But the Capitol police are not directly part of the President's team of body guards. As far as tit for tat goes, I concur it's childish, but lets be honest here. Both parties are engaged in a publicity war and you and I both know that the Democrats wanted to embarrass the president and giving Sheehan a pass to the SOTU speech was basically using her to score points. She's long since used up her 15 mins of fame and honestly there are a lot of people who don't want to hear from her again. I know there are a lot of people on the other side who do want to hear her again and would LOVE to see her try to embarrass W time and time again. Ok.. fair enough. If Bill Clinton was allowed to have that bubble of non criticism around him and his cronies then you surely cannot deny the other party to enjoy the same privledges.

As far as the "get out of jail free card" the only thing I've seen that anyone has done was outed Valerie Plame and there is a legitimate question on whether or not that was an actual crime. It's the only real "scandal" that the Democrats can push, and not much of one from the looks of it.
