Here's to the Universe
Nov. 18th, 2005 08:14 pmAnd it's having fun at my expense.
Cleaning today, ever so boring an mundane a chore. Right until I managed to step on a pushpin, dead center on the ball of my right foot. Know what hurts worse than a half inch pushpin embedded in your foot? That's right, taking the damned thing out. Then there is the cursing while cleaning it. >:| Not... happy..., Jan!
Some comic relief: Affy, huge black cat (nicknamed "The Panther" by
shadoutcarver) getting his butt kicked (pecked really) by a wagtail
Oh he hissed, spat and ran for cover. For those who don't know this bird, it's about as large as a canary.

Date: 2005-11-18 01:18 pm (UTC)Eons ago we had a heavy snowfall for this region. My mother feed the birds through the winter, with the cold and snow she stepped the effort up by sweeping off the table in the back yard and leaving additional food on it.
The gather of birds became kitty TV for the family cat; while she wasn't about to go out in snow at least as deep as she was tall, she spent most of her time watching from the closest window.
The the food attracted a seagull, who awkwardly landed on the table. When the cat saw this huge (to her) bird coming in her eyes got very large, and then she jumped down and ran off to hide under a bed.

Date: 2005-11-19 06:40 am (UTC)It was funny to watch, this huge honkin' cat being harrassed by an itty bitty bird. Smart bird, to be sure, as he waited until Affy was looking the other direction to come in from behind.

Date: 2005-11-18 02:16 pm (UTC)Not tonight. Tomorrow I have a class to teach, but thank goodness for our long time routine of having two teachers in each class. I will be pampering the foot for a few days, just to make sure nothing comes of it.

Date: 2005-11-19 01:19 pm (UTC)Yes, wagtails are very pretty birds. Smart too, as they wait until Affy is looking the other way before divebombing him.
*hobblehobblelimplimp* At least I Know it will get better.
