With true intelligence, this will be overturned.

It's truly frightening how far the US has gone in reverse. It was bad enough that schools cut their creativity courses (art, music, acting) to expand sports. So you have a bunch of muscleheads that can tote a ball, but can't add, or have an original thought in their heads. Now you have religious bodies turning the education clock back to the preindustrial darkages. What next? Convincing the masses that witches DO fly on broomsticks?

Hasn't the GOP learned from the past? Every communist country did the same thing, deriding and distrusting science and arts, even to the point of burning great works of art, and writing. Is it only me that sees the parallels here? This is a downward spiral that if not halted, will be catastrophic to the US and its' citizens.

At least there are bright spots here in Lawrence, KS.

Bumper stickers seen:

Kansas, where evolution is banned and the monkeys are in charge.

{and the direct rip on the state's new marketing slogan:
Kansas, as big as you think.}
The new stickers read:
Kansas, as bigoted as you think.

Love the bumperstickers. Something I read a long time ago: If you think the price of eductation is high, try the cost of ignorance.

I am seriously hoping the teachers themselves revolt against this brain neutering manuver.

And I do think, that with a change of elected officials, this sheeplike stupidity will be overturned.

I absolutely agree.For us here in the U.s. things are going exactly that way. The christian Fundamnentialists are everywhere, and trying to convert all ti there ways and demonizing all who trad their own path. It's is realy hard being a pagan here these days...

Just wait, pretty soon the theocrats are going to resurrect the 1650's church dogma that witches can truly fly on broom sticks, or othersuch rhetoric.
