Astrophotography
Aug. 8th, 2005 11:22 pmWell, tonight I did a bit more even though getting a wonky eq mount to behave wasn't what I would call 'fun'. Waxing phase of the moon, using dark violet filter, no barlow. Found out that Registax has fits if you try to use too many images in the stacking process. I also used the webcam at 640x480 resolution, 60fps with IRIS again. I am sure there is a way to stack the images with IRIS but the manual/help files leave much to be desired. Might do a search online to find some instructions.

Date: 2005-08-08 03:57 pm (UTC)I had always loved this phase since I had seen it for the first time at age 9 through my 76 mm x mas gift quality reflector, complete with super unstable cardboardy- plastic mount... That scope is long gone regretably it did have sentmental value.I had to repair it's base many times to keep it going .It had also given me my only glimpse of Halley's comet through it.
