Had another go round with the telescope and camera with its homemade focal reducer. My biggest hitch was not working with the motor drive, and getting the framerate/exposure settings right without it. Won't make THAT mistake again. I did get some good shots, and I might (emphasis on might) get em stacked to bring out more detail. But I have to admit, the AVI file, with jupiter moving through the heavens, with its moons in tow is a beautiful sight.

Date: 2005-07-28 05:01 am (UTC)For now, I'm probably going for just a motor drive myself(R/A). The mount my c8-newtonian currently rides on is a chinese no name version of a celestron cg-5.I would like to try to get a motor drive for it, but not sure who makes one for it.
