Took dance shoes to the 'fixit' guy, and had the soles replaced. Heels aren't wearing down, but we do spend a lot of time on the fronts of our feet, so they would wear out up front a lot quicker. Also had him stitch up a few places that were coming unseamed.  He threw in a bonus polishing on both pairs. They look brand new again.

Picked up our 'business' overlocker/serger. Will cut our costume making time in half.  And once we get the 'personal' overlocker serviced, it will make things even quicker.

Got some more single write CDs as we have students that want the music to practice. Fair enough and easy enough to do.

Had lunch at a completely delish Indian restuaurant.  The chefs there use real saffron, not tumeric. Yum.

Came home and fought with my computer for a few minutes and then got it behaving correctly.  Bad 'puter, bad bad bad.  Spank you, go to corner.

Cooking dinner and it smells good.

Couldn't find what [livejournal.com profile] shadoutcarver was looking for, but I can try again tomorrow at some different shopping centers.

What type of shoes do you use for bellydancing?
I prefer wearing my half-soles (virtually barefoot), but I have seen a few dancers on heels.

Thin, extremely light weight form fitted 'jazzboots'. They are the softest of shoes you can imagine, and fit snug under the arch. Elastic on both sides of the instep ensure a snug but not *tight* fit. The heel is less than 1/3 of a centimeter, almost nonexistant. Very comfy. Half-shoes won't really do much good out in grass or dirt, so these are the perfect compromise. They come in black, and and light beige.

Okay, thanks for the info!
I have seen this kind of shoes in other dancers. They also come with lacing AFAIK.
I know half-soles are not appropriate for many "stages". I do not perform, so I just wear the half-soles in summer and ballet-slippers when it's cold.
