anysiaI have been puttng cotton taping on some lovely hipshawls I got a few weeks ago. I have found that reinforcing the edge with cotton like that slows or outright prevents the tassel ends from getting frayed and stops any ripping along the edge. Or as my grandmother used to say: An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
