Just for giggles...
Jul. 29th, 2007 06:12 pmI booted up my old Toshiba Tecra, a whopping 120 mhz Pentium, laptop, just to see if it still worked. Surprised when it did! It was like opening a time capsule. I brought it with to Australia, and had it for a while when I was still living in the US.
I found old emails, chat logs, and other electronic conversations, some that were over 10 yrs old! It's amazing what has changed, or not changed, in the past 10+ or so years. Some people have vanished into the sunset, some have gone on to become not 'famous', but established. Some are still the same. Friends who even now I still keep in touch with even after all this time.
I look at a few of the items with a tinge of sadness, as a few have gone on and forgotten who was shoulder to cry on, or someone who promised, and kept that promise, to keep what was said in confidence. I have a rough draft of a book someone asked me to read. It's a novel now. Even have a script or two.
Good times and bad times, they are all on it. I think I will back up the entire drive to a few dvd single write discs and just archive it.
