I fixed up the back yard and the gate so Loki would have the great outdoors to play around safely. Used a large piece of shade cloth and the old screens we had replaced with security screens to make a barrier so he would stay in the back yard.
Then suddenly Keito decides to demonstrate his tightrope walking skills along the top of the fence bordering ours and our neighbors yard completely blocked in with solid fencing. Did I ever mention it's at least a 6 ft drop at the shallowest point? Loki of course thought if Keito could to it, so could he! And promptly fell off and down... into the neighbors yard.
Of course, no one is home.
After much scrambling for ideas (dangling toy mouse on bungee cord in a small tree in hopes he could climb up it, draping a thick towel over the fence, and dragging something up it to get him to climb up etc) to no avail. Light bulb went on. I grabbed a small bit of lattice fence about 5 ft long, and used my garden hoe to lower into their yard. Dragged a twig up the lattice and got Loki within arms reach, and grabbed him around the neck, a la mommy cat, and hoisted him up.
Back to the drawing board. Or I will end up having to constantly baby sit Loki until he gets the idea back yard only.
