anysia: (Braid over tattoo)
Allergies are kicking my butt, and I can't take much of anything except for the mild fever and scratchy throat as antihistamines will also dry my eyes. Not a good thing if you have to wear contacts.

Made another tribal belt, and it came out beautifully. Dunno if I am going to give it a 'trial run' today or not.

I keep missing SwanCon gettogethers and meetings due to conflicting schedules! :-(  I need to clone myself and make it maturate spontaneously.

Shisha mirrors on embroidered hemp belt. To this I did some crocheting work, and tassel adding. I have some itty bitty tassels to add but I forgot where I put 'em.  I'm sure they will turn up sooner or later

Aparacida Workshop )
Just got back about an hour ago, had a long hot shower, scrubbed the spackle off my face, and fixed myself a chicken sammich with tomato.

The workshop was wonderful. We were recieved with much anticipation, and our dancing and energy just flowed. Very appreciative crowd. Made several business contacts, of which I am sure at least 4 of them will pan out.

Oh yeah, it was a goood day.  Not many pictures taken, as it seems I was only one who brought camera. Kinda hard to take pictures of yourself while dancing. *chuckle* Did manage to get a few of some of the people attending the event. Much fun was had.

Perfect viewing night, clear skies, a sunday night, so the partying boys are at home, not running the roads. My allergies are making me sniffly and coughing, and feeling generally *bleh*

A funny aside about the Aparacida workshop today.  I got asked a few times "Is that plait (braid) your hair, or an extension?"  Joanna, the woman whose property we had the Healing Festival/Workshop day said "Oh yes! Her hair goes past her butt!" in the most gleeful tone you can imagine.
anysia: (WTF??!!)
Because it frightens the hell outta me!

Bush supporter quoted saying:

"If I have to sacrifice my whole family for the sake of our country and world, other countries that want freedom, I'll do that," said the soldier's father, Gary Qualls, a friend of the local business owner who started the pro-Bush camp. He said his 16-year-old son now wants to enlist, and he supports that decision.

Gee, human sacrifice for Bush. The rest of the article is on Cnn.com.

Has anyone pointed out to this 'lets throw our children, not politicians children, into this meat grinder for Oil' that Iraq has/had bupkiss to do with threatening the US?  Nothing, and I mean NOTHING in this illegal war in Iraq is worth my children dying.
