Now if only the weather would cooperate
Jul. 14th, 2005 12:20 pmCleaned and packed up my old telescope. I called
_meegan_'s house and asked to speak to her youngest. I told him that I had a new telescope, and I was looking for a new home for my old one. I didn't even quite get that said when he was jumping up and down, volunteering to adopt it. It's a great started one for a novice, and he will have lots of fun. Weather permitting, we will drag our scopes down to the park, and do some star and planet gazing

Rarin' to go.
Jul. 14th, 2005 03:55 pmAttatched and tested the telescope motor drive. Works wonderfully, and s...l...o...w. All I need now is the weather to cooperate.
Worked a bit more with the overlocker. I think I have broken myself of the ingrained habit of pulling the fabric through, and just letting the machine do it with me just guiding it from the front.
Getting set for the last Westerly class of the term. Hopefully Brenda will have the migraines taken care of now. Am getting a bit worried about her. They have been happening a lot.
Got an invite to perform later this month, which is why I hope B will be there tonight. Need to let her and Seana know about it. We will tell the beginners about it too, but they can come to watch rather than dance. Don't want to scare the hell out of them having them think that just after 2 terms they have to perform.

Oooooo pretty
Jul. 14th, 2005 10:37 pmGot back from dance class, and saw a small window of opportunity for some sky gazing. Dragged scope outside, let it acclimate, and then tried my baby. On a silly aside, being busty is somewhat problematic when trying to view through the finder scope. The right ascension knob kept shoving into my chest, and would mess up the sighting. I perservered, and was rewarded by the clearest, sharpest view of the moon I have ever had outside of an observatory. And I was very glad about having the moon filter, or I would have probably ended up with a screaming eye/headache.
Didn't drag the camera/laptop outside, as it was cloudy and didn't want to chance getting caught in the rain. Oooo, the clouds ghosting over the moon was a most beautiful sight. I promise, there will be pictures, just not tonight.
