YIPPY! After some experimentation, I found out why the program kept barfing out and relaunching itself, chewing up VM and just screwing up. (Failure to initialise was the MS "official error message"... I call it oversight on their part.. I mean c'mon, if you have a selection to "Normalise Audio" as an option, it should
not make the process crash, yes?)
So, I have a very professional looking DVD, with ...
MENUS! Motion MENUS! and a nifty sound track, last but NOT least, rolling credits at the end (including our business Copyright notice)
I did find out what caused the reverb effect on the last dance set. It was a combination of WIng walking around us, our costumes/bodies getting between us and the camera/mic and the slight overhang of the tent above the music source. The mic was so senstive, it actually picked up the echo of the music happening IN the tent. Guess I should have overdubbed, but it's a rather interesting effect.
We have a motto about performances: It's not a performance unless something on the costume falls off... typically a tassle, piece of jewelry,or a loose zil. As luck would have it the new camel tassels I put on the ties of my belt added just enough weight that with every turning move we did, they slowly yanked my tassel belt untied, and you guessed it, it slid off. Luckily Wing didn't follow me as I let the
_meegan_ and
polgara_hanwi finish out the song as a duo. Told students about the DVD and Seana asked if the fubar with the belt was going to be included, and I told her "You betcha!" She, Brenda, and the beginner students there were glad to hear that. It shows that even with a goofup, you just keep going. Loved Seanas' philosophical attitude... "At least it wasn't your choli."
