Nov. 9th, 2003 08:53 amLast night was wonderful...
We both tidied up after our respective activities (teaching one dance class, training for sandan grading) got ourself dressed up for the occasion, Wing selected a 9 yr old bottle of Reisling, and off we went to our anniversary dinner. Wing made reservations at "Jessicas" (this place was suggested to be my a good friend. We had a nice quite table with a helluva view (he requested that when he booked the table).
Soft music...wonderful decor, and just a lovely setting all the way around. The wait staff knew it was our anniversary and were wonderful. Turns out that a professional photographer I know was in house, and I decided right then and there, when he came around to our table, there would be a photograph of the occasion. :) Got two of them actually.
I think we were rather mushy, and obviously still ga ga over each other. It made an impression on them, one of them told us it gave her hope to see that sort of mutual affection and caring in an "ol' married couple". We had a chuckle over that. (remember Wing doesn't like to admit that he is coming up on the big FOUR OH..he tends to get a look of panic in his face when it's mentioned. I wonder if it's his self imposed USE BY DATE)
After dinner, as we were leaving, we got a few 'happy snaps' as is said in Aussie, and got a few goofy pictures too. (Yes Wing, I did take that shot of you mugging at the camera. Did you really expect otherwise? *chuckle*) we had a leisurely drive back home. And again I have to say this: Manhattan has a lovely skyline at night, but Perths' is not only lovely at night, it looks good in the daylight too.
Got home, checked out the skies (Mars fading fast now)
Came in, was greeted by one cat, and one 3/4 grown kitten. How *dare* us leave them there. A few head pats and scritches, and our anniversary evening continued.
Perfect end to perfect evening. (contented sigh)
