Sew good

I have been puttng cotton taping on some lovely hipshawls I got a few weeks ago. I have found that reinforcing the edge with cotton like that slows or outright prevents the tassel ends from getting frayed and stops any ripping along the edge. Or as my grandmother used to say: An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch.....

First sewing, now working on some tribal jewelry.

On the advice of a very good family friend of ours, Mrs. T, I have been coating my tribal jewelry with a brand of laquer she suggested. I tried it out on one piece a few months ago, and it worked like a charm. The greenish/black/bluish skin stains that was happening with the gillit metal stopped. So, now I have been coating the backs of all tribal jewelry that will be touching skin. It might get worn off after repeated wearing, but it's not like it's backbreaking work to coat them again.

(no subject)

Just got back from the monthly PAGANS IN THE PUB get together. What a great group of people. It was a lot of fun. We arrived on time, got some great seats, and then we noticed a group of mundanes had co-opted one of our usual tables! Ooo, da noive! So, we all crowded around two tables, and had a gabfest. Got to see a few of my friends from SwanCon there again too. We were asked for information about where and when we teach, and gave them the information. Looks like we have at least one (if not more) new person! And the both of them have dance experience!

Next months meeting the weather should be warm enough for the Pagans in the Park! Looking forward to that quite a bit, since we have been asked to do a demo performance there. Things are hoppin' and happenin' now! HooooRAH!
