Today is the start of school holidays, for a whopping 2 weeks. Egads, will I survive? Luckily, the one still at home is old enough to entertain and feed himself.

Been out gardening this morning. Weeded what is left of my old herb plot, and planted some parsely seedlings (Thanks Meegan!). I have had parsley go to seed in my garden 3 years running, but nothing germinated.

Trimmed back my chili plants a few days ago, and when I checked them today, they had explosions of new leafy growth on them. There were even quite a few blossoms.

I might have to move my rosemary plant to a sunnier spot. Or cut back a few branches on that feral phicus tree of my neighbors, that is putting the entire plot into shade.

The two flower pots herb gardens are flourishing. The basil seedlings have tripled in size, and the thyme plant looks like a miniature shrub. The sage plant is thriving and and has new shoots coming up from the base.

NOTE: Since hubby never really took or had the time to maintain the trees and other flora, the snails around here are almost epidemic in purportion. I have been using both pellets and naturual methods to reduce their numbers.

The orange tree that I shifted a few years ago is going to be allowed to have a full fruiting season this time. The thing is awash with blossoms, and the fragrance is just heavenly.

NOTE: I found out that what Aussies call "Rocket (or roquette)" is what us Americans call Arugula.
