Archimedes is such a suck up. I turned him onto the joys of head and neck rubs, and he can't get enough. But he seems to, like most birds I have had, want my glasses for himself.SHINEY!
I can relate to having a Rainbow lorikeet , my inlaws adopted and injured lorikeet from an uncle who was given the lorikeet from a policeman.
The uncle for some reason could'nt or wouldn't take care of it .
Lorikeets like apricot nectar juice , soy milk and many different blossoms like ,bottle brush amd grevillia flowers .
Like most people that have lorikeets they tend to name them Squirt for obvious reasons.
Squirt started off with the name Goldy then it got changed to Squirt .
Lorikeets tend to be rather sookie like most parrots are and they tend to take off you house , Squirt even has his own play equipment and they also can very demanding as well .
My inlaws also have a budgie and he tends to dominate the budgie ,the budgie is kind of like a mum to the lorikeet since the lorikeet was a baby when they got him , although he tend to scare the budgie a bit .
Like most parrots and lorikeets they also like shiny things ;)
I used to hand rear nanday conures and cockatiels, so I know what parrot types (also known as hookbills) like to play with and their food preferrences. This guy is a sweetie.
