When I saw these comments and 'theories' I thought they were a joke. Then I read more and more of them, repeating the same song and dance over and over.

  1. Obama isn't the president, because he screwed up his oath!

  2. Obama isn't Christian, because he didn't use a bible the 2nd time!

  3. Obama isn't the president because he didn't use a bible the 2nd time.

My answers:
1: President Obama didn't flub the oath to office, Chief Justice Roberts did. Obama said it exactly as it had been rehearsed, Roberts screwed up. Doesn't matter, as Obama recited the correct oath.

2: A bible or other 'holy' book isn't necessary to swear an oath. One doesn't have to be a Christian to swear an oath. Just ask someone who has enlisted in the military. My oath was given, no bible anywhere in sight. And just for an FYI, the Pledge of Allegiance is an oath, no bible necessary there either.

3: Re-read above.

And then there are the ones whining about a few rude gits booing at Bush during the inauguration. Personally, I think it would have been better if he had been met with icy silence, but hey, I can understand. What gets me is how offended these right whiners are. But it was ok for Obama to be booed, outright insulted and threatened. It was ok for Ted Nugent to march back and forth on stage with his semi automatic weapon, saying it should be shoved up Madame Secretary's (Formerly Senator Clinton) 'glory hole' and she should be shot.

Where was their moral indignation about that? Where was their outrage when Nugent suggested object raping Sen Clinton with an automatic weapon and discharging it?

Hypocrites? Oh hell yes.

Actually, Obama did repeat the flub by CJ Roberts, putting "faithfully" at the end of the sentence. It's happened twice before in history, and both were still Presidents.

IMO, all the right words were there, does the order really matter? What was lovely is how gracefully Obama handled it, and his comments when asked about it later. He continues to show class and calm in the face of controversy.

What cracks me up is the "antiquated" computers found in the White House by his new staff. Yep, that's our gubmint.

In actuality, the words and oath are not necessary. Constitutionally, at 12 noon on January 20th, Bush was no longer president, and at 12:01 pm, Obama was president. The swearing in ceremony is a public spectacle, rather like a concert, but for our benefit.

But legalities, and the Constitution have never really played into GOP supporters lately, have they?

Antiquated computers is about the right speed for Bush, isn't it? And Cheney?

Antiquated is teh norm for gubmint as far as technology goes, unless, of course, you are in warfare. (Warfare drives technology, sex brings in the revenues, as reported once in a computer tech journal).

What amused me the most is the article posted, check it here....and (really, check out "The team members, accustomed to working on Macintoshes, found computers outfitted with six-year-old versions of Microsoft software)...and there was this quote, that cracked my shit up. clicky-click....
mainly because I deal with both gubmint (the Veterans Administration) and the legal community (we fight VA appeals) in one swash.

Truly, check out the whole article, if you haven't already seen it. I'm being forthright here, this is what we deal with every day.
