Mar. 25th, 2008 09:33 amBush: U.S. sacrifices 'laid foundations for peace'
President Bush Monday said U.S. deaths in Iraq had "laid the foundations for peace for generations to come," one day after the military announced its 4,000th death since the war started.
Foundation for 'peace'? For peace?? What f&%$ing parallel universe is he in??? He has laid the foundation for an never ending war with his illegal invasion of Iraq!
What sacrifices did he make? Did either of his beer swilling daughters go to Iraq? What child did he have to bury? What husband, brother, uncle, father, son, daughter, sister, mother, aunt did he bury? What family member of his came back with severe injuries, only to languish in a hospital ward that could have been closed for being unsafe?
None, no, none, none, none!
He
Sacrificed
NOTHING

Date: 2008-03-25 01:09 am (UTC)I disagree with both your premises. First of all, that the war is "never ending" (all wars end, eventually), and secondly, that the war was "illegal" (I do not consider wars to be "legal" or "illegal" based on whether or not they are authorized by the UN).
You could argue that the war was "unwise" or "unnecessary," if you like. That's another issue entirely.

Date: 2008-03-25 01:35 am (UTC)And it was an illegal invasion, on false premises. I won't argue the point.

Date: 2008-03-25 01:40 am (UTC)I hope you're not doing poorly ... seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. I don't see the Iraq fighting lasting past, say, 2013 at the utmost.
