This also depends a _lot_ on the quality of your speakers. Most speakers either filter or incorrectly represent the sounds at frequencies above 10khz. I could hear tones up to ~15khz on my pc but the speakers definitely "clicked" for the next two tones above that. Will try it again with real headphones.
