South Park vs Scientologists

First off, Scientology is a 'religion' (and I use the word loosely) based on crappy SciFi writings/droolings of the L Ron Hubbard, who publically stated if you want to bilk people out of millions, set yourself up as a religion, and he did just that.

Now, if supposedly intelligent  people want to believe the spewings of a con artist, fine, so be it.

So, here is Isaac Hayes, as the Chef on South Park, who had no qualms whatsoever about pillorying anyone elses' faiths/religions, taking umbrage when Scientology was in the crosshairs, having a pissy fit and walking out is blatant hypocricy.

Some nimwit tried to 'recruit' me several years ago, stating that Dianetics was the way and it's top 10 ranking was proof it was 'the truth'.  When I busted out laughing, and told him that the only reason Dianetics was still on the top 10 is because Scientologists buy it, and then return it,(I worked at a national bookstore chain, I actually saw this in action. Sales of books are recorded, returns aren't) I burst his pretty bubble of getting another brainwash victim.

Personally, I could give a damn if celebs want to be in one of the worlds biggest cults, but I get so fed up with their being the medias headliner. So what, Tom and Kate f*cked, and she got knocked up, so now they are going to have a little clone to call their own. Big Whoop.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

Years ago, I often walked through the part of town where the local Scientology slan shack was. This meant that ever so oft I'd encounter one of their fans, who would try to interest me in The Cause.

I found that talking about El-Ron's pulp writer days, His Works and conversations with other writers of the time, would usually lead the to lose their Clear.

It was fun.
