anysia: (Tribal & Fire Dance (yellow))
Got woken up at 4am this morning yet again. (sigh)

Decided to put my early awakening to good use. Did some site admin work, which is always fun (yeah right). Removed all the old student group dance photographs. They will be available for request, but I can't see using server space to keep them there. Since our site has bupkiss to do with that student group anymore, off the went.

Got some tidying up done. We have about (counting) 7 people coming for the tasselbelt workshop next week, and with our teaching schedule, and the fact I have a teenager home, I need to get head start on getting things ready. And then right after that, new class term for intermediate students in Rockingham.

A few of our students last night wanted to know if it was ok for them to come to our fortnightly gig at La Tropicana, and we told them "Oh heck yeah." We also told them about the 'winter tribal gear' we have now. It's a must when performing in an open air cafe during what passes for Winter here in the Land of Roos, Wallabies and nice beaches. It's difficult to dance when shivering even after a proper warm up.

Todays practice session/drilling went great. Had a major improvement with arms on all three students today. I would say another week and Shev will be ready for her public debut. Kim and Sue are doing just dandy also. Sue is a bit leery of leading, but she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to.

Kim and Sue showed us a brochure for recent dance event. We saw a photograph.. the kindest thing to day is "Wow, they look dour and miserable".. Sad to think they paid someone to take that picture.

Emailed San Fran, and got a lovely response back. I know she is extremely busy, but I do like to keep her informed of our progress. She sent her congrats (with exclamation points too!) on what we have accomplished, and not being under the banner of local studio. We did it on our own merit, not using someone elses pull. That makes the world of difference to us.

We have been getting asked why we didn't participate in the recent dancers shindig. We had too bloody many committments! (laughing) Meegan and I looked at the application for the event 2 months ago, looked at each other and laughed. "When?" and shook our heads. That and we had a performance the weekend of it and the following tuesday. Now if we could figure out how to add an extra day to every week....Nah, we would just end up scheduling either a class or a workshop.
