Scarborough Fair? Not quite
Sep. 12th, 2003 11:07 amJust got through planting my new batch of herbs (yes, legal ones). I have decided not to have the small plot I had the past few years, and plant them in nice, high pots instead. Last year, with the water shortage, everytime my plants got 1 inch off the ground there were snails, doves, and slaters devouring them, especially the basil plants! Plus my neighbor has a feral Phicas tree planted in the ground, that has grown over the fence, and puts the entire garden plot in the shade. Not good for rosemary, thyme or sage. So, I have mobile herb garden, which can be put in the shade if necessary, but placed in full sun too. For some odd reason though, none of my parsely seeds have sprouted. Guess I will have to get a seedling and plant, hoping this time that when it does seed up, I will get some next time.
Also, my poor oldest cat, Affy, got a thorn in his face a few days ago and he needed some vetinary care. He is so vain... he had to have his face and neck shaved to have it taken care of properly. From domestic long hair, to partially Cornish Rex. He is skulking around the house, and grousing that he wants outside. I am supposed to try to keep him in for 2 weeks. Yeah right. (laughing)
